striped bags

On a whim, I decided to sew together some smaller offcuts of felt and arrived at this bag form with wet-felted and needle-felted stripes. I lined the top with black wool, and in the third picture you can see the finished article, complete with two hand-felted handles.

I made a second bag, this time a bit larger, and with an oval base, which I put through its paces during a trip to Christchurch over the weekend. 

The bag stood up well to a bit of wear and tear, which has given me confidence to carry on and make more.
