Needlepoint rescue

Whenever I come across an old needlepoint in an op-shop, I find it hard to resist. I'm drawn to them because I know how many hours and weeks of work went into completing a project like this and so I feel a strong urge to rescue them. I remove it from the frame right away and it is instantly as bright and fresh as the day it was completed. This one actually had the maker's name on the back of it - Zoe Donald, who completed the piece in 1986. Thank you Zoe, wherever you are.

I've turned the piece into a cushion for the guest house. Here's today's up cycled needlepoint sitting next to a cheerful cross-stitched bird that I found a couple of months ago at another local op-shop.
