Botanicals 2

This lovely cactus cake tin houses five balls of hemp twine. It was one of about 30 vintage cake tins we found in Granny Jenkins' cupboards when I was helping clear out her old house recently.

Here's a related botanical item - a glorious album of houseplants published in 1928.

It's filled with pictures of house plants, lovingly collected by the original owner, and pasted into pages alongside a text in Flemish describing each plant and detailing how to care for them.

My sister found Kamerplanten in an op-shop on the Kapiti Coast and it was another treat in my Christmas stocking.  Lucky me!
